Pet Clinic

Jill is a Registered Veterinary Technologist, graduating from Cariboo College in Kamloops, B.C. She has been an invaluable member of the Benson View team for over twenty years and has a special interest in cytology.

She also has a keen interest in equine behaviour and learning, and in her spare time enjoys trail riding in the backcountry and working with her horses.

Natasha grew up in Hamilton, Ontario and completed the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian College in 2019. Shortly after, she successfully passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam.

Natasha began work in January 2019, doing her practical training in Orillia, Ontario and continued there after graduation, until moving to Nanaimo to join our team at Benson View in November 2019. Although she currently doesn’t have any pets at home, she fulfills her need for animal connection in working with her animal patients every day.

In her time off, she enjoys painting, yoga, hiking and exploring new places and coffee shops!

Tammy grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. She completed a BSc (Physiology and Developmental Biology) at the University of Alberta, and then realized veterinary technology was the right fit after volunteering at the Ottawa Humane Society. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus in 2011, and moved to Nanaimo that year to work as a vet tech and enjoy living in such a beautiful area!

She joined Benson View as a co-owner with Dr Large in 2025. When not at work, Tammy enjoys cooking, baking, hiking and spoiling her pets: dog Nyx, and cat Rhea, both from the Nanaimo BCSPCA. She also volunteers as a kitten foster with the BCSPCA, at Helping Paws Nanaimo Community Animal clinic, and with the Canadian Animal Assistance team.

Lisa joined the Benson View Team as a receptionist in February 2022. She has always had a passion for the working German Shepherd breed. In her free time, Lisa enjoys training her German Shepherd, Nahko, in competitive dog sports. Her pet family includes Falka and Rosco, both German Shepherds, as well as Sammie and Yeti, two Himalayan Persian cats.

Beyond her love for dog training, Lisa enjoys camping and boating on Lake Cowichan with her husband and son. She feels fortunate to call Vancouver Island home, believing it to be one of the most beautiful places to live in Canada.

Kimberly was born in Hope, B.C. and raised on the Island. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to work with animals. With 21 years in customer service and a love for meeting new people, it seemed a natural fit to become a welcoming receptionist at Benson View in February 2019. When she is not at work, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and furry companions.

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Mikayla has always had a strong connection to animals. With three cats, a dog, and a part-time role working on a local farm, she enjoys making every visit easy and welcoming for pets and their owners. Whether she’s assisting with appointment scheduling, answering questions, or offering advice, Mikayla is dedicated to making every visit as smooth as possible. When she’s not at the clinic or the farm, you can find her enjoying the beauty of Vancouver Island with her furry companions.
